Konnichiwa!
Isn't it amazing the way people have transfered the fibers spun from a larvae, and have turned it into a beautiful fabric to awe and admire?
Silk is an amazing material. It can be dyed into a multitude of colours, and embroidered to embellish and already beautiful, soft, "silky" fabric.
The craftmanship it takes to put a kimono together is well worth it's expensive cost. Just acquiring the silk is a feat in itself. But to gaze on its finished product, we see its value.
Although it appears to be soft and supple, don't let this fabric fool you. For with its tightly woven material, it keeps one nice and warm, for a light and airy fabric.
One must admire the work to produce these beautiful Japanese Robes. If you are able to acquire the real thing, wear it with pride and joy!
